Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride,
Wearing white for Eastertide.
Now, of my threescore years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more.
And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow.

I am so glad you posted this today! This is one of my very favorite spring poems. My cherry tree is in bloom now too and I am going to make sure I take the time to sit and enjoy it. There are just not enough springs to take it all in!
Your poem choice is lovely! I can't wait to be there to see the cherry blossoms myself...well I'll see them next year I suppose!
